Girls Win Football Tourament
On Tuesday the 22nd of April 2008 Isobel, Courtney, Briony, Alicia, Meghan.W, Meghan.B , Ellie, Sammy as our goalkeeper and Gabby and I as the captains, went to a football tournament at Harrogate High School.
Our first match was against Western 3 and Gabby scored 3 goals and I scored 1, which meant we won that match 4-0.We got 3 points for winning.
Our second match was against Coppice Valley. We drew 0-0 which meant we got 2 points for drawing.
Our third match was against New Park CP
and we drew 0-0 again which meant we got another 2 points.
Our fourth match was against Western 2. Two seconds before full time we got a penalty I took it and scored which meant we won 1-0, and we got three points. So we got into the semi final - that was against Aspin Park. They handballed, so we got a penalty and I scored, so we won! We got into the final and we had to go into penalties and we drew so it went to sudden death .They took the first shot but they missed! I shot and I scored, so we won the cup and all got a medal each. The whole team will be representing Harrogate in another big tournament for the whole of North Yorkshire
We would all like to say a big thank you to Mr Ireland and Mrs Graham for organising it, and to Mrs Chester, Mr Ireland and Mr Williamson for taking us there and back.
