FronterSchool Mission

Being a member of Kirby Hill C of E School means being kind hearted, happy and successful.

Our school is a Christian foundation and we aim to reflect that in its life.

We welcome all children from our communities and we attach high priority to strong links between school, home and churches. Foundations Governors and local Christians are actively involved in the life of our school.

Our aim is that the children attending our school shall be responsible, thoughtful, self-disciplined and capable of achieving their maximum potential.

To help our children to achieve this, our school will provide quality education within a happy disciplined caring environment, in partnership with parents.

Collective Worship is a focal point in the daily life of our school and we seek to provide opportunities for the spiritual development of both staff and children.

The aims of our school curriculum are:

  1. To help children to develop lively enquiring minds, the confidence to question, and the ability to debate rationally.

  2. To promote a positive attitude towards learning, so that children enjoy coming to school helping them to receive challenging, stimulating, worthwhile and enjoyable experiences which will lead them into a love of life long learning.

  3. To teach children the basic skills of literacy, numeracy and information technology (IT).

  4. To help children gain understanding of and respect for religious and moral values and appreciation and tolerance of other groups, races, religions and ways of life and points of view.

  5. To help children to develop a concern for the quality of their immediate environment and to understand the world in which they live.

  6. To help children develop an awareness and appreciation of human achievements and aspirations.

  7. To help children, through diligence, commitment and self-discipline achieve the highest standards of which they are capable.

  8. To help pupils in the development of their own individuality and independence, enabling them to discover and recognise their own strengths.

  9. To enable children to be creative and develop their own thinking.

  10. To teach children about their developing world, including how their environment and society have changed over time.

  11. To help children understand Britain’s cultural heritage and enable children to be positive citizens in society.

  12. To fulfil all the requirements of the National Curriculum and the Locally Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.

  13. To teach children to have an awareness of their own spiritual development and to understand right from wrong.

  14. To help children understand the importance of truth and fairness, so that they grow up committed to equal opportunities for all.

  15. To enable children to have respect for themselves and have a high self-esteem, and to be able to live and work co-operatively with others.
